Service Overview:
The relevant technical committee of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has formulated the ISO 8124 series of toy safety standards. This series of standards mainly focuses on regulating the safety requirements of toys in terms of mechanics, physics, chemistry, and flammability, and does not cover the electrical safety domain. The electrical safety of electric toys is overseen by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and the IEC 62115 standard specifically stipulates the safety requirements for toys that have at least one function requiring the use of electricity.
Range of application:
Applicable to all toys, that is toys designed or reserved for children under the age of 14 to play with.
Common inspection regulations/standards:
● ISO 8124-1 Safety of toys - Part 1: Safety aspects related to mechanical and physical properties
● ISO 8124-2 Safety of toys - Part 2: Flammability
● ISO 8124-3 Safety of toys - Part 3: Migration of certain elements
● ISO 8124-4 Safety of toys - Part 4: Activity toys for domestic use
● ISO 8124-5 Safety of toys - Part 5: Determination of total concentration of certain elements in toys
