On October 26, 2023, the US Senate and House of Representatives promulgated the proposal H.R. 6105 "Non-toxic in Food Packaging Act of 2023" at a congressional rally, which will amend Article 409 of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetics Act. The proposal identified five substances as unsafe to use in food contact materials. The requirements involved in the proposal will take effect two years after the formal promulgation of the bill.
Based on the requirements of this proposal, the following substances will be identified as unsafe food contact substances:

According to the proposal of H.R. 6105 "Non-toxic in Food Packaging Act of 2023", the manufacturers of relevant food contact materials and products should gradually reduce the use of the above five kinds of substances as raw materials or additives for food contact materials and products, and should look for substitute materials as soon as possible.
